Chloroquine taken in the dose recommended for malaria prophylaxis can reduce the antibody response to primary immunization with intradermal human diploid-cell rabies vaccine. Praziquantel In a single-dose interaction study, Chloroquine has been reported to reduce the bioavailability of praziquantel. The antimalarial drug chloroquine CQ disrupts autophagy by inhibiting the acidification of the lysosomes that fuse with the autophagosomes, thereby preventing the degradation of metabolic stress products and inducing apoptosis. Chloroquine-mediated inhibition of autophagy has been demonstrated in melanoma. Chloroquine is commonly used to study the role of endosomal acidification in cellular processes 2, 3, such as the signaling of intracellular TLRs. Moreover, Chloroquine inhibits autophagy as it raises the lysosomal pH, which leads to inhibition of both fusion of autophagosome with lysosome and lysosomal protein degradation 4.

Let your healthcare provider know if your symptoms either don't improve or worsen while taking this medicine. Keep all appointments with your doctor and laboratory.

This autophagy marker resides within autophagosomal membranes during the autophagic process and is degraded upon fusion with lysosomes. Plaquenil and dizziness - I just saw my rheumy yesterday, and she wants me to try to increase the plaquenil from 200mg to 400mg. I took 400mg today with lunch, and I noticed I got very dizzy shortly after taking the higher dose within an hour. It was almost like the dizziness I had when I was on percocet after surgery, could only lie down and couldn't think clearly.
