    Chloroquine osteoarthritis

Osteoarthritis can't be reversed, but treatments can reduce pain and help you move better. Medications. Medications that can help relieve osteoarthritis symptoms, primarily pain, include Acetaminophen. Acetaminophen Tylenol, others has been shown to help some people with osteoarthritis who have mild to moderate pain. Plaquenil reduces inflammation in many Rheumatic disorders, the mode of action is pretty complicated though so I shan't bore you with all the details, but basically it prevents your dendritic cells these are messengers for your immune system, if you will from interacting with your T-Cells a special type of white blood cell which through a convoluted and boring process, causes inflammation. Hydroxychloroquine is in a class of medications that was first used to prevent and treat malaria. Today, it is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, some symptoms of lupus, childhood arthritis or juvenile idiopathic arthritis and other autoimmune diseases. It is not clear why hydroxychloroquine is effective at treating autoimmune diseases.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend against treatment of malaria with chloroquine alone due to more effective combinations. In areas where resistance is present, other antimalarials, such as mefloquine or atovaquone, may be used instead.

Terrible Itching on Plaquenil---PLEASE HELP. When I got back on plaquenil I had a problem with my face itching all the time. Allergist put it down to sun sensitivity and told me to wear sunblock at all times. When I told my rheumy she told me that it was the plaquenil causing it. One of her nurses was having the same problem.

Does anyone have an itchy scalp from hydroxychloroquin or plaquenil.
